Form: Alfred Dorn Sonnet
It is you my eyes are longing to see
As morning light falls softly on your skin
That brief time that you are sleeping still
I watch the shadows of dawn dancing free
And hear your breath gently drawing them in
As my senses rise up to overspill.
I want to touch you now, my sleeping love,
Yet hold back to gaze longer from above.
I long to feel you moving close to me
So I may kiss your eyes awake today
Then whisper how tender my love can be
As the tendrils of good morning make play
Come to me, my lover, you are the key
That opens my soul wherever we lay
