Form: Alfred Dorn Sonnet
I made a wish upon a distant star
That her sweet lips are kissed by warm sunshine
While I tarry in the cold winter snow
And if her thoughts should then wander so far
Let her recall the words of love were mine
On that winter’s night she made my world glow.
For I recall the summer in her eyes
And the taste of ocean’s breeze in her sighs.
Oh should my love look out upon a star
May she feel my touch through all time and space
And let her hear the softly strummed guitar
That serenades her from another place
As she has left her mark, a painless scar
That holds my soul within her loving grace
