A Day in December
Form: Strambotto
Eyes of children shine with anticipation
Excited chatter in their letters to Saint Nick
While parents are laden with that frustration
Of knowing just the perfect present to pick
Each gift disguised in bows and shimmering wrap
The energies of Christmas must be on tap
As the last parcel is placed beneath the tree
And then there is time for that last cup of tea
