Form: Terza Rima Sonnet
Theme: Childhood
Subject: Wallpaper

As kids we watched our mum and dad
While stripping paper from the walls
Layers of time, happy and sad
A tray of tea adjournment calls
To leave behind the paper pile
Kids and paper alone in halls
Pulling apart old-fashioned style
A sea of Art Deco design
Spread out around us in a smile
And we kids thought it looked just fine
But mum did scream and dad did shout
For them our patterns did not shine
With what our art was all about
Instead go and play, go on out
