Winter Winds
Form: Rosarian Sonnet
The golden hues are fading in to grey
As icy winds reveal a winter's day
No leaves remain to dance upon the air
Instead the feet feel bitter morning frost
Against the wind the woollen scarves are tossed
But inside my love has set a roaring fire
That warms my soul and with his heart's desire
I face the cold of night without a care
With wistful dreamings of her gentle kiss
And mugs of sweet mulled wine steaming with bliss
The winter winds may bring the chilly cold
And leave an empty view for all to see
Yet I know her hand is always mine to hold
As it is love that shelters her and me
