Black Rose Petals by Jez Farmer

As I lay the black roses on your grave
I no longer feel I am strong and brave
As winds blows emptiness again today
It feels like living is so far away
And my tears fall where the dark petals lay
My cries of grief shriek in the mindless wind
With emotions wild and undisciplined
The power of death I cannot rescind
In solitude pain is made more intense
And faith brings no comfort or recompense
And I look to the gods with my eyes blind
Yielding to nature’s ways and elements
As the curls of sandalwood smoke unwind
Accepting destiny is mine to find
