The taste of love has lingered on,
a brief instant that stayed too long,
rebounding heart that led to you.
Each kiss a lie, a mourning song,
embraced in thought this love is wrong,
rebounding heart that led for you.
A promised tryst did not belong,
between us two when hurts were strong,
rebounding heart that led to you.
No chance to breath or think as one,
just asked for time was given none,
rebounding heart that led to you.
Amid the web of lies you spun,
I smile and see new life begun
my loving heart has closed to you
