Form: Cyhydedd Fer Sonnet
Mermaid
The air was cool at fall of dusk
The setting sun released its musk
From the seas, she heard me call out
In the moonlight, she heard me shout
Then sung her song to lead me in
My passion laid to her chagrin
She sung come home my love, come home
From my arms there’s no need to roam
I wished for love not caring how
Beneath the waves she holds me now
She haunts my dreams and waking days
And leaves me wondering, always.
An age-old tale of love and lust
Of emotions ground down to dust
