A Dwelling Place

Form: Alternating Sonnet 1

To honour you, sweet love opened my heart
For you and I to dwell in gentle grace
Within life’s tempest our sweet quiet space
When hand in hand setting ourselves apart
Come live with me, my heart is now your home
Where I will be waiting for you to come
And reveal its beauty within your eyes
The shadows of your thinking just the start
Before we kiss into tender embrace
Come possess my heart, make it your own place
Let shapes of love be such devoted art
As your lips meet mine for a little while
My breathing offers me no more disguise
And I wonder does your heart see my smile
