Putting It Off

Form: 5 couplets of blank verse with enjambments

The smooth surface where orange comets swim
So softly ripples in circles of rain

And I wonder if it’s chicken again
For dinner while pigeons wait for their seed

Old scary places with eyeless faces
Staring into my soul; woke with a scream

Another poem needs writing; it waits
For procrastination washing cups up

Eyes stare at the screen fingers type it out
in the pain of gender dysphoria
