Form: Hymnal Measure
I pray the goddess dwells in me
While kindling fire at dawn;
In flames I see her burning love
As she returns this morn.
I listen now for birds of spring
Entwining twigs; a nest,
The warmer days are coming forth
As darkness takes its rest.
The earth is waking from its dream
The winter slumber done;
And catkins dance upon the breeze
In warming rays of sun.
My Lady walks upon the ground,
Her footsteps soft and kind;
The frosty days are fading fast
Now winter’s left behind
