Form: Blank Verse Sonnet
The endless emptiness of daylight hours
Her dreams forgotten in the morning rush
And the warmth of her feels out of my reach
A careless flick of a quilt across sheet
And love has gone cold for her working day
As silence replaces the gentle sound
Of breath embracing the slumber of rest
I wish I could keep her laid here with me
But tonight is different he’s come home
She’s smiling, laughing at the things he says
As they embrace and she lies in his arms
I feel their heat drawing them closer ‘til
They are moving as one in unity
Of lovesex passion and I hear them cry
