Bae Abertawe

Form: Ballade

No day passes without a thought
A memory I shared with you
Why was time so painfully short
When love was all and all we knew
Just you and I and seas so blue
I think of you again today
A silent thought with nothing new
My rose I left at Swansea Bay

On the Gower I’m lost in thought
Like a captain without his crew
When you were all I ever sought
Just wondering what can I do
But stare at the sea with no clue
Alone, my love so far away
If only I could talk to you
My rose I left at Swansea Bay

A mourning heart, a mind distraught
The endless pain of losing you
But life goes on and so it ought
That’s what you wanted me to do
Live you said, to yourself be true
Perhaps you’re not so far away
And now I wonder what you knew
My rose I left at Swansea Bay

Things have changed, as they always
I think of you and smile today
For my love is always with you
My rose I left at Swansea Bay
