Form: Australian Sonnet
In the fresh showers that quench the dry ground
I feel my lady place her hand in mine
And in her love, myself I can define
For my heart is no longer lost but found
In the sacred touch of my Mother Earth
As she holds me while crying tears like rain
As once again she comes to share my pain
And through the darkness I ask for rebirth
In that darkness I faced my own disgrace
Ignoring the signs that were clearly shown
With no excuse as I have always known
And still my lady offers her embrace
For her love is tender but never mild
And this son of the Earth, her precious child
