Form: Alfred Dorn Sonnet
The man who used to live behind the glass
To haunt my eyes all day and dreams all night
A taunting grin that said just let me in
I said no; we reached a state of impasse
Yet always the man stayed within my sight
Until the day I broke and shattered within
And in that moment, he set my soul free
Releasing the past so he could be me
And now I see the man outside the glass
His taunting grin sits lightly on my face
His confidence is mine and bold as brass
That carries me with gentlemanly grace
Honour and strength instead of bitchy sass
The past is gone, she’s left without a trace
